Lives and works in Marseille, France
The work of Jean-Baptiste Sauvage is mostly based on an in situ approach, be it borrowing patterns or logos from advertisements to re-inject them into the real world or researching a specific subject, as with the Olt project. His work can be seen in an urban environment, as with the series of mural paintings that he started in 2011, or in exhibition areas. Additionally, it is further developed through editorial projects, such as On Forme (2009) and Razzle Dazzle / Blue Line (2014). Jean-Baptiste Sauvage also favors collaborations with artists and graphic designers. The image, which he sees as both a medium and a tool, lies at the center of his work, which reflects on the “ideologies and dysfunctions shown by the formalization and pictorialization of our living space”. Anne Giffon-Selle
